We are challenging customers to Dine in the Dark on Tuesday 7th November and Saturday 11th November in occasion of the NCBI’s Dine in the Dark week!

Guests will be blindfolded while enjoying our special 3-course set menu. Want to have a full experience? Add our wine pairing to your menu and try to guess the wines!
The menu has been created especially for the occasion and to enjoy the whole experience we have decided to keep the menu secret.dine-in-the-dark

The purpose of the event, as NCBI explains, is “While it is impossible to fully simulate life with sight loss, diners will get an insight of what it’s like to live life as a blind or vision impaired person. And while they experience this fabulous feast of food, fun and imagination, a minimum of €10 from every meal will be donated by participating restaurants to the National Council for the Blind’s crucial work supporting people with sight loss.”

Ticket for the 3-course dinner is €42 per person which includes €10 in donation to NCBI.
Additional €18 for the wine matching can be paid directly on the night.

MEET THE WINEMAKER:

ITALIAN WINE TASTING WITH CANTINE MONFORT

Tuesday, 17th October – 7.30pm

We are delighted to be joined by Federico from Cantine Monfort, a family-run winery based in the beautiful region of Trentino, Italy.

Federico is the son and winemaker for the Maso Cantanghel range, an exclusive range of single vineyard, limited production wines.

Cantine Monfort focuses on organic wines which are an outstanding expression of this lesser-known and enchanting region of Northern Italy.

RACLETTE & WINE TASTING EVENING

Come along to this fantastic event to experience the wonderful world of Raclette Cheese and Wine!

Sophie Jo Wasson – owner of The Ploughman’s Daughter, of Eatyard Food Festival fame and Raclette Maker Extraordinaire – will run a masterclass on the history of Raclette and most importantly a tasting of traditional Swiss melted cheese on potatoes and pickles as well as a Raclette from farmhouse Irish Cheese!

Alongside this you’ll get to taste 2 reds and 2 whites chosen by Garret, owner of Baggot Street Wines and Cavern Wine Bar that accompany the cheese perfectly!

Cristian Urza from the winery Viu Manent in Chile will conduct a Masterclass about his unique wines!

Viu Manent is a Chilean winery owned by the Viu family. It was founded in 1935 when the Catalonian immigrant Miguel Viu-García and his two sons Agustín and Miguel Viu-Manent founded Bodegas Viu in Santiago de Chile.

Viu Manent has come a long way over the past 75 years, years that have been marked by the family’s love for the trade and its ongoing commitment to the excellence and quality of its wines. This dedication has made the winery one of Chile’s most distinguished producers of fine wines, exporting its products to five continents since the early 1990s.

Larry McKenna from Escarpment will join us in the Cavern for a unique tasting of his beautiful range of Pinot Noirs which will be paired with a 3-course dinner menu specially designed for the occasion by our chef Luca Rivardo.

Larry has firmly established himself as a leading winemaker in these parts and is particularly renowned and respected as one of New Zealand’s pre-eminent Pinot Noir winemaker. Referred to by various wine writers and authorities as everything from the ‘Prince of Pinot Noir’, the ‘Godfather of Pinot Noir’, a Pinot Noir ‘legend’, and ‘maestro’, Larry has built a solid reputation for understanding and gaining the best out of this typically stubborn and capricious grape.
